What else can be spoken of the place which is the capital of God’s Own Country Kerala. It is said that visiting Kerala is experiencing heaven on Earth and so do Thiruvananthpuram. Mesmerizing sea breeze from the Arabian Sea, lush greenery everywhere and shady lagoons makes it the most enchanting place to visit. Padmanabhapuram palace is the most famous one which once being the ancient seat of the Travancore rulers. The place is full of woodworks and relics of historical value. The Koyikkal Palace built in the 15th century is on the way to Ponmudi Hill station and Kuttalam Waterfalls. One can also enjoy the river carnival held everywhere either in August or September in the beautiful village of Aaranmula where a boat race is held.

There are two famous museums in Thiruvananthpuram, the Kuthiramalika Palace Museum built by the king of Travancore with exquisite collection of paintings, woodcarvings, architecture and innumerable priceless collection of the royal family. The Napier Museum is the 19th century structure that houses precious collection of the rarest artifacts.
